There was no mention of DeLazzaro or spelling variations, listed in the Status Animarum II: a Census of 1687, so they must have come to Malta after this date.

But I have sent for a copy of the Status animarum, vol. 16, 1695-1777.
from the Hill Museum & Manuscript Library www.hmml.org. I should get the copies in 2-4 weeks time.
after much confusion I was told that the records i needed could only be sourced at the main library in Valletta much to my disappointment!
